The Royal We? I thought they split up. Did they always sound like minimal techno? For fans of the Scottish indie band of the same name, this new Seth Troxler release will come as something of a disappointment. ‘Party Guilt’ is a track that will immediately alienate anyone who got very tired of detuned waffling techno vocals when they first became ubiquitous, and it really doesn’t get any less tedious. Of the remixes ‘Dinky’ offers a weird, almost beatless take on the track that offers an interesting dialogue-based outing that’s more like a radio play than a piece of dance music.
