Adam Beyer’s Drumcode is synonymous with the global sound that is techno. Never content with resting on previous achievements, Drumcode has taken on a fresh relevance in 2009 with a string of standout tracks from a new wave of producers like Paul Ritch, Alan Fitzpatrick, Joseph Capriati and Tiger Stripes to sit alongside established names like Joey Beltram, Joel Mull and Adam Beyer.
Having debuted on Drumcode with his Static EP back in September, Alan Fitzpatrick makes a swift return to Drumcode with this latest three-tracker. More experimental and innovative than his previous work, this EP represents the start of a process that will see Alan release his debut album on Drumcode in 2010.
Face Of Rejection leads off the EP with its stark, brooding menace and heavy throbbing groove. Industrial and hypnotic with a relentless intensity, this is a track built to twist out the atmosphere with its subtle changes of pace and raw energy.
Trendy Wendy takes the industrial theme and applies it to a stomping tech house groove. Taking rumbling deep bass and snappy snares as its foundation, the groove is punctuated by rattling toms, off-kilter horns and wobbly chimes.
